THE AUSSIES RETURN TO SUNSHINE COAST, QLD IN 2024
Queensland’s Sunshine Coast will host the 2024 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships with over 6000 volunteer surf lifesavers from around the country expected to attend “The Aussies”, the pinnacle event on the Australian surf lifesaving calendar.
Alexandra Headland, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba and Coolum, Surf Life Saving Clubs and beaches will host the annual event over nine days of competition (April 13-21), where surf lifesavers will test their “rescue ready” skills in a competitive individual and team environment.
The Aussies comprises of more than 480 events across three age championships; Youth, Masters and Open and provides the opportunity for members from across the 314 Australian Surf Life Saving Clubs to compete in both beach and ocean events.
“The Aussies brings together the surf lifesaving community from all over the country and we are really excited to be returning to the great beaches and hospitality on the Sunshine Coast in 2024,” said President of Surf Life Saving Australia, Mr John Baker ESM.
